Founded in 2023 by Jason Prifogle, a retired combat veteran of the Kentucky Air National Guard, Iron Herd Apparel is more than just clothing—it’s a movement. Jason, now a power lineman and competitive Highland Games athlete, has battled on the world stage and continues to compete in strongman events. A lifelong artist, Jason pours his creative vision into every design, crafting apparel that embodies grit and purpose. Married for over twenty years and a father of two, Jason keeps his family at the forefront of all life choices, grounding his mission in love and responsibility. Through his YouTube channel, IronHerdTV, he shares his journey training for Highland Games, strongman, powerlifting, and marathons, inspiring others to push their limits.
Our Roots
During the 2020 pandemic, Jason opened the Iron Herd gym next to his home, creating a sanctuary for military veterans, family, and friends to train when local gyms shut down. This space became the heartbeat of Iron Herd—a place where physical training battles the mental struggles many face, from military service to everyday life pressures. A fierce advocate for mental health, Jason believes that physical fitness is a lifeline, forging resilience and purpose.
Our Team
Joined by his training partner, Nate Samsel, a tech wizard who masters the digital and technical side of the brand, Iron Herd thrives on early mornings. At 5:30 AM, while most are asleep, Jason, Nate, and a dedicated group of lifters train together at the Iron Herd gym, building not just muscle but a shared vision. Nate’s expertise in video editing, website development, and tech brings Jason’s creative designs to life, from YouTube to the online store.
